The goal of this blog is to show how the LGBTQ community should be shared and accepted more in music, and why it’s important to share and learn more about it. I’m hoping that viewers of the blog can find out more about music and music artists that express their love for the community.
It’s also important to know that just because the LGBTQ community is spoken about through music and other aspects of culture, it does not mean the community feels fully accepted. There is still a lot of work to be done when it comes to bringing about more acceptance and equality of LGBTQ people.
This acceptance needs to be created through the establishment of laws that allow LGBTQ people to be able to do all of the same things that heteronormative people can do. Most importantly, the community needs to be accepted in the minds of others, because we should all be able to love who we love.
I speak about a number of different artists in today’s music industry that are helping to spread the word that it is okay to love who you love. There’s one small exception though, for Bowie, even though he isn’t as talked about in today’s music, he is still vital to the community.
